This Privacy Policy describes how NyaySahay (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information you provide while using our website and services. We aim to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder.
1. Information we collect
- Queries you submit: the text of questions you ask the AI assistant, the ADR or government-body searches you run, and the AI's responses.
- Account information: if you create an account, your name, email, phone number, and (for advocates) Bar Council ID and professional details.
- Feedback you submit: ratings, comments, and (optionally) contact details if you ask us to follow up.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps — collected via standard web-server logs and (with your consent) analytics cookies.
2. How we use this information
- To operate and improve the assistant — identifying failure cases and content gaps.
- To match users with advocates and facilitate consultations they have requested.
- To respond to feedback or support requests you've sent us.
- To produce aggregated, non-identifying analytics about how the site is used.
- To prevent abuse and protect site security.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (with IP anonymisation) to understand site usage, and may in future show advertisements via Google AdSense to keep the service free. These services use cookies. We load them only after you grant consent via our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser storage.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers who host or operate our infrastructure, under confidentiality obligations.
- Advocates you choose to engage, for the limited purpose of that consultation.
- Google (Analytics / AdSense) under their respective terms, only after you opt in.
- Authorities, when required by Indian law or a valid legal order.
5. Your rights under the DPDP Act
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your data and request a summary of it.
- Request correction, completion, updating, or erasure of your data.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave.
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of incapacity.
- Grievance redressal — contact our Grievance Officer at the address below.
6. Retention
We retain query and feedback data for as long as it is useful for improving the service and for legitimate business records. Anonymous analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default settings. You can ask us to delete your data by writing to the address below.
7. Security
We follow reasonable security practices and procedures as required under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we encourage you not to share confidential case details in unencrypted form.
8. Children
NyaySahay is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without verifiable parental consent.
